Mixed Media Artist
I have had a passion for painting and sculpture since childhood. I'm always excited by the opportunity to portray a subject in an unpredictable way. My current quirky females, animal figures and also luminaries often incorporate a steampunk/android theme, a humorous twist and sometimes a little humour.
Each of my sculptures are 'one off' unique pieces entirely handcrafted by myself using ideas plucked from my quirky and fertile imagination. Most pieces are hand built using the coiling or slabbing techniques.
I like to avoid realism at all costs!
My recent paintings have been created using pastels and acrylic paint to produce my own quirky interpretation of various characters from Alice in Wonderland This series consists of large original paintings and limited edition giclee prints.
I also create embossed, pierced and sculpted tea light holders made from fine earthenware or translucent porcelain giving off a cosy, atmospheric glow. My pierced “lady-lamps” are inspired by the female form, my humorous animals by my desire to hopefully raise a smile from the viewer.
I am an experienced tutor with more than 20 year experience working with ages from 5 to 95 years having worked in nurseries, schools. colleges and care homes. I enjoy teaching more than I had ever imagined I would. Many students have discovered how relaxing and theraputic art can be. I hold a teaching certificate and often run beginner/intermediate level workshops in my studio in Worcester.
Unique handmade candle covers made from fine white clay or porcelain that has a translucent, atmospheric glow when lit. These piercings produce magical patterns of light which project onto walls or ceilings, depending on where the lamps are placed!

Great afternoon making Christmas decorations in clay. Not worked in clay before but Heather was a great teacher and I enjoyed the experience very much. Would recommend Heather to anyone. Jayne
I have attended a 10-week cake decorating course, and a two-day sugar flower modelling course lead by heather and I learnt so much. Heather is a wonderful teacher with a brilliant and lively personality and encourages you to put your own twist and style into whatever you're making. Heather was very understanding of my disability and makes you feel safe, comfortable and provides a very friendly atmosphere, I had so much fun in her classes and 100% recommend going to a variety of courses she offers.
